Damn the luck

Okay, so Sadie had her finger poke today. Maw came for a sleep over last night so she could go with us. Maw has been to every one except for one. Sadie makes my mom get her finger done first before she will allow them to do hers. Of course they really don't stick my mother, but Sadie doesn't know that cause it's so played out and real to her. Sadie was told to pick a finger, and ironically the finger that she picked would not drain. The phlebotomist looked at me and mouthed, were gonna have to do a different finger. I thought, oh shit!! Damn the luck!!! So I broke it to Sadie that she had to pick a different finger, and needless to say, she was pissed. We finally got it done and we were outta there. The test takes about 4 hours to get back when we go local, so it's an all day wait to get counts. On the way home, she got sick in the car and was sick for a good part of the day. She was bound and determined to get mcdonalds whether she was sick or not. Before we left for the test she talked about it, after the test she talked about it, and after she got sick in the car she still wanted it. So......we go to mcdonalds, wait in the drive through, get ready to order, and she then decides she doesn't want it. We pull out of line, pull out of the parking lot, and then she wants it. I talked her into letting dad bring her some after work. She harassed me about this mcdonalds happy meal all day. Mom, did you tell dad?? Yes Sade, I sent him a text. Mom you should call him. All day over and over again. Dad brought the McDonalds, and go figure.....she had a couple fries. That is so typical of her, although, I was very happy to see her eat something even if it was so little. I would go anywhere or make anything just to see her eat. The nurse from glennon finally called at about 3:00 with sadies counts: whites = 4.6, blood = 11.6, platelets = 146,000, ANC = 3100. No transfusions needed as of now, and I am sooooo grateful for that. She should be ready for chemo on Tuesday. Yay!!!! Another hospital stay. I can't contain my excitement and I so miss all those student doctors. I love my Sadie girl so much. Much, more, most as she says. Good job on counts baby girl. Your body is working so hard. I only wish that I could do the work for you.
